Denise's Ancestors

MOORE family - Loudoun, VA

My great grandmother Mariah Luella Payne had a daughter named Ann Geneva, in abt. 1871, father not yet known, prior to marrying Dennis Williams, widower, in 26 Aug 1875 in Loudoun.  Dennis Williams is listed as father on Ann Geneva's marriage on 11 Dec 1894, to Alfred MOORE, b. abt. 1854 in Loudoun to John and Alice MOORE. 

However, her surname is PAYNE on the 1880 census when listed with the WILLIAMS family.  Whether Dennis was her father, or adopted her I have yet to find out.  Have not yet found a birth record for Ann Geneva.  Ann Geneva married Alfred MOORE,  11 Dec 1894, in Loudoun county.  Alfred's parents were John and Alice Moore.  

Ann Geneva had two children prior to marrying Alfred. The oldest died at age of two months.  The second, Adeline is listed in birth records as Adeline PAYNE, but  is listed in census of 1900 as daughter of Alfred MOORE.

My family intersects with the MOORE's again when the son of my great grandfather Dennis WILLIAMS , by his first marriage to Matilda MASON -  Ellzey L. WILLIAMS, marries Mollie Marthant MOORE, 23 Sep 1886 in Loudoun.   This couple subsequently moved to Essex county, Montclair New Jersey.
