          Marriage records seem to incorrectly list Townsand as white (see census below) – they show his marriage to Maggie Weems 4 Jan 1877 , and list him as son of Jas and Mary Ellen LOGAN. 

There is also a marriage listing for Anthony LOGAN to Mary E Mitchell, which list him as son of Jas and Mary Ellen Logan.

Rachel is wife of slaveholder Gunnell SAUNDERS, and daughter or daughter-in-law of Mary Saunders.  Have found two spellings for this family - SANDERS and SAUNDERS.

Listed as owner of Maria, who gave birth to Hager, 1857 and Alfred 1859.  Maria. 45 is wife of Daniel PAYNE, 60  found in 1870.   Earliest mention of Daniel and Maria is in  will of Aaron SAUNDERS.
